Adult services are provided for Individuals from age 18-65. Pathways Specialty Clinic treats an array of mental illnesses in Adults such as,
Depression- (Major Depressive Disorder, Persistent Depressive disorder/Dysthymic Disorder, etc.)
Depressive disorders characterized by depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant distress, impairment in daily activities and relationships with others.
Bipolar Disorders
Type of disorders characterize by marked fluctuation of moods, energy levels, sleep, concentration & Impulsive risky behaviors causing significant distress, impairment in daily activities and relationships with others.
Psychotic Disorders– (Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Delusional Disorder, Brief Psychotic Disorder, etc.)
A group of psychiatric disorders that markedly deviates an individual understanding of reality, characterized by delusional thinking, hallucinations, disorganized thought processing, poor selfcare and lack of ability & motivation to function normally.
Anxiety Disorders- (Generalized anxiety disorder, Panic disorder, and various Phobia-related disorders)
Group of disorders characterized by heightened anxiety, fear, inability to stop worrying & experiencing Panic attacks.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is characterized by unreasonable thoughts and fears (obsessions) that lead to compulsive behaviors causing significant distress & impairment in daily activities.
Trauma related Disorders– (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Acute Stress Disorder)
Mental health conditions that are triggered by either experiencing a life-threatening event or witnessing it. Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares and severe anxiety, as well as uncontrollable thoughts about the event.
Sleep Disorders- (Insomnia Disorder, Hypersomnolence Disorder, Circadian Rhythm Sleep-wake Disorder, Parasomnias, etc)
Sleep disorders can be comorbid with a variety of Mental & Medical illnesses. Sleep disorders can affect one’s overall health, and quality of life.
Adjustment Disorders
stress, feeling sad or hopeless, and physical symptoms that can occur after someone goes through a stressful life event.
Eating Disorders– (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge eating Disorder, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, etc.)
Maladaptive patterns of food intake (restricting or excessive eating) , with or without irrational concerns about one’s weight and with or without inappropriate compensatory behaviors to prevent weight gain. Eating disorders treatment usually involves multiple specialists, in addition to psychiatrists, including primary care physicians, Internists, psychotherapists, Dieticians, etc.
Personality Disorders
A group of mental illnesses that involves enduring patterns of thoughts and behaviors that deviates markedly from the expectations of one’s culture. They cause distress & affects social, occupational functioning. Borderline Personality Disorder, Antisocial. Narcissistic, Schizotypal personality disorders are commonly presented to treatment and treated in collaboration with psychotherapists.

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
- PMDD causes marked irritability, depression, or anxiety during the last two weeks prior to your period starts.
Peri-partum & Postpartum Depression & Psychosis
- During pregnancy and postpartum period some women experience mood disturbances or psychotic symptoms. Symptoms are usually mild and short-lived; however, sizeable group of women develop more significant symptoms of depression, anxiety or psychosis.
